Project Purpose

This project covering the partially covered habitations of Vill. Haripur & other Villages, supported by the New Development Bank and implemented under the Jal Jeevan Mission, is a comprehensive initiative to ensure safe and reliable drinking water across District Kangra. The project sources raw water from the Baner Khad, a local khad as the source through percolation well. This water is then distributed directly to households. The project is set to benefit over 24,891 residents, significantly improving water accessibility and public health in the region.

Project Deliverables

  • Percolation Well: There are dedicated structures computing to a total storage capacity of 1.7 MLD of naturally filtered groundwater on the Baner Khad. A percolation well ensures clean and sustainable water supply by tapping subsurface flow for treatment and distribution.
  • Raw Water Rising Main (RWRM): Ensures effective transportation of raw water to the WTP through carefully selected GI pipelines.
  • Clear Water Gravity Main (CWGM): Efficiently transports treated water using high-pressure capable DIK7 and GI pipelines, addressing current and future water demands.
  • Elevated Service Reservoirs (ESRs): Strategically positioned 36 Nos. reservoirs operating via gravity to maintain adequate pressure and distribution throughout the network.
  • Distribution Network: Extensive GI pipeline network precisely designed to manage optimal water flow and pressure for household connections.
  • Pump Houses: The strategically located underground storage reservoirs are used for intermediate storage of treated water, facilitating continuous and uniform water supply across the distribution network by boosting it for further reach through the help of pumping machinery.
  • House Service Connections (HSC): Robust household connection infrastructure providing reliable, tap-controlled water access. A total of 177 habitations are being connected via various HSCs in the project.
  • Electro Mechanical Works: The project requires us to install pumping machinery designed with high efficiency and reliability to manage varying water demands across extensive geographical and elevation ranges by helping in the movement of the fluid from one point to another.
