Project Purpose
The Pawai-Byarma Multi-Village Water Supply Scheme has been initiated to address the critical water scarcity and quality challenges faced by villages in Panna district, Madhya Pradesh. This project aims to provide a reliable and continuous supply of safe drinking water to approximately 260 villages, directly improving the health and daily lives of residents. In alignment with the national Jal Jeevan Mission, the scheme reflects the government’s strong commitment to achieving universal access to potable water, thereby enhancing the socio-economic fabric and overall quality of life in rural communities.
Project Deliverables
- Intake Well: Critical raw water sourcing structure constructed at the Pawai Dam, including comprehensive electromechanical installations for efficient water extraction. The Intake Structure being built for the project has a capacity of 42.60 MLD.
- Approach Bridge: Constructed to ensure accessibility to the intake well, facilitating regular maintenance and operational activities.
- Raw Water Rising Main (RWRM): Ensures effective transportation of raw water to the WTP through carefully selected DI K9 pipelines.
- Water Treatment Plant (WTP): A dedicated 35.50 MLD WTP is being built in the project and it utilizes advanced Rapid Sand Filtration technology for treatment, including components such as Aerator, Clariflocculator, Filter House, Chlorination Facility, Chemical House, and a Clear Water Reservoir to guarantee the safety of potable water.
- Clear Water Rising Main (CWRM): Efficiently transports treated water using high-pressure capable DI K9 pipelines, addressing current and future water demands.
- Elevated Service Reservoirs (ESRs): Strategically positioned reservoirs (at various locations) operating via gravity to maintain adequate pressure and distribution throughout the network.
- Distribution Network: Extensive HDPE pipeline network precisely designed to manage optimal water flow and pressure for household connections.
- SUMP: The strategically located underground storage reservoirs are used for intermediate storage of treated water, facilitating continuous and uniform water supply across the distribution network.
- House Service Connections (HSC): Robust household connection infrastructure providing reliable, tap-controlled water access. A total of 58,265 Nos. of connections are to be provided under the project.
- Electro Mechanical Works: The project requires us to install pumping machinery designed with high efficiency and reliability to manage varying water demands across extensive geographical and elevation ranges by helping in the movement of the fluid from one point to another. More than 20 Pumps are required to be installed for effective movement of water across the project area.
- Electrical Works: The Electrical works include establishment of a dedicated feeder line network (33KV/11KV) extending, along with installation of five substations to supply reliable, uninterrupted power essential for the scheme operations. A Dedicated Feeder Line of Power Supply of a total length of 11Kms and 5 Substations (200KVA – 1600 KVA) are being executed under the project.
- PLC SCADA: The Scheme is to be PLC SCADA enabled making it a scheme run on advanced automation system enabling centralized monitoring, data collection, remote operation, and real-time control, enhancing operational efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of the water supply system.
