Project Purpose
As part of the project under the Jal Jeevan Mission initiative, two sub-schemes are being implemented. The Panarsa section sources water from a bore well near Jhiri Pump House to serve approximately 6,250 residents, while the Kotli section lifts water from the Beas River using a Winch Trolley system and treats it at a dedicated WTP to meet the daily water needs of around 12,550 people across five panchayats. Both aim to ensure safe, adequate, and reliable drinking water supply to these partially covered habitations.
Project Deliverables
- Bore Well: A deep, narrow vertical shaft drilled into the ground to extract groundwater from underground aquifers for a consistent and reliable water supply.
- Raw Water Rising Main (RWRM): Ensures effective transportation of raw water to the WTP through carefully selected MSERW pipelines.
- Water Treatment Plant (WTP): A dedicated 0.72 MLD WTP is being built in the project and it utilizes advanced Rapid Sand Filtration technology for treatment, including components such as Aerator, Clariflocculator, Filter House, Chlorination Facility, Chemical House, and a Clear Water Reservoir to guarantee the safety of potable water.
- Clear Water Rising Main (CWRM): Efficiently transports treated water using high-pressure capable MSERW and GI pipelines, addressing current and future water demands.
- Elevated Service Reservoirs (ESRs): A total of 14 Nos of Strategically positioned reservoirs ranging from 10 KL – 120 KL (at various locations) operating via gravity to maintain adequate pressure and distribution throughout the network.
- Clear Water Gravity Main (CWGM) and Distribution Network: Extensive GI pipeline network precisely designed to manage optimal water flow and pressure for household connections.
- SUMP: The strategically located underground storage reservoirs are used for intermediate storage of treated water, facilitating continuous and uniform water supply across the distribution network.
- House Service Connections (HSC): Robust household connection infrastructure providing reliable, tap-controlled water access. A total of 18,800 Nos. of connections are to be provided under the project.
- Electro Mechanical Works: The project requires us to install pumping machinery designed with high efficiency and reliability to manage varying water demands across extensive geographical and elevation ranges by helping in the movement of the fluid from one point to another. More than 20 Pumps are required to be installed for effective movement of water across the project area.
